The Pool Lifeguard

The official comprehensive DVD training pack in support of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification – developed and delivered by ISRM and the Institute of Qualified Lifeguards. It promotes the critical importance and professionalism of the lifeguard role. Running time: 74 minutes.

Quality Customer Service

Details basic customer service skills for staff, defining general principles which can be applied to many situations. It provides managers with a guide to effectively managing customer service. The DVD is best shown as part of your customer service training programme and included in the induction programme for all full and part time staff. Running time: 56 minutes.

Leisure Health and Safety

Contains an employee induction section which covers key health and safety issues and responsibilities for staff joining a sport and recreation centre. The DVD also features practical advice on 5 key health and safety management topics: young persons at work; drugs, alcohol and smoking; stress at work; contractors on site, and new and expectant mothers. Running time: 59 minutes.

Effective Duty Management

The duty manager has to co-ordinate staff and operational activities, be proactive in customer relations and effective in a management role. Managing the varying aspects of the job tests the duty manager’s time and people management skills. The DVD covers the main features of the role and provides a structured framework for a duty manager training programme. Running time: 37 minutes.

Health and Safety Management

This DVD demonstrates how high standards of health and safety can be achieved in sport and recreation facilities through a planned approach to managing the problem (principles of health and safety management) coupled with an understanding of safety requirements in specific service areas (facility specific health and safety).
